Well, I guess it depends what you have the ambition to do.
Ambition is "an earnest desire for some type of achievement or distinction, as power, honor, fame, or wealth, and the willingness to strive for its attainment" (according to the source below).
Simply put, I guess if your ambition is to save the starving children of the world it is good.
If your ambition is to kill small fluffy bunnies then I guess it's bad.
Too much ambition can be destructive, and make you self centred. Not enough ambition can make you apathetic and waste your life.
Ambition cannot be defined as either good or bad without knowing about the context you are using it in.

Ambition is usually a good thing because it motivates one to set goals and achieve things that lead to a better life, at least, economically speaking. It is only a bad thing if your ambition hurts others who get in your way, so to speak, on "the way up."
In other words, let say you want to be the president of your school class but there's another really popular guy or girl whom you feel threatened by because of the fear that they might win the election. So you come up with a plot to smear your opponent by making up and spreading a vicious and false rumor about them. O.K., let's again suppose that you do in fact go on to win the school election and become class president, but the only reason you won was because of the false rumor that you manufactured about your opponent.
In this latter and unfortunate case, your ambition drove you to do something not only unethical but immoral to achieve the desire of your ambition, which was to become class president.

It depends on what your ambition is. If you have ambition to stab someone, thats bad. if you have ambition to help someone, then it's good though. It's just a strong drive to do something.

ambition gives you something to strive for in life....as long as you are not overconsumed by it then its a good thing....it shows you have self potential and you have the drive to better yourself
