I think it is neat how they play their instruments and are able to walk as they do it. Thanx for your answers in advance.

When I was little, I used to love watching them make pictures on the field. Then, my oldest daughter joined when she was in middle school, and we have one of the best bands in the state. She worked really hard, and they won many festivals and awards. In the process, I learned what makes a good marching band. So, yes, marching band can be fun to watch, and very good experience for your child. They learn so much more than the music. It's about teamwork, hard work, the choreography, and travel. Awesome experience, and a great source of pride and self-esteem.

I love marching bands. I, too, find it fascinating how they are able to play and walk at the same time. I don't get to hear them very often. Our small town parade doesn't have a marching band. But, I do love them.

Yeah, i was in marching band in high school. i played oboe for concert, but they told me i had to play something else for marching so i played the tenor sax. oh, gosh we practiced so much whether it was hot or whether it was so cold and rainy that our fingers were freezing. my favorite year of marching was my freshman year cuz we actually got to go to state, it was awesome. i think marching band teaches you discipline and it brings you really close to people in ways that other groups wouldn't understand. the sound is so loud and powerful, and nothing is greater then outplaying the marching band on the other side of the field.

Absolutely! When I was little, I used to love watching the marching band practice. My granny lives in a neighborhood across from the schools and they would practice marching through her neighborhood. I loved it! I love watching them in the parades every year. And I love the movie "Drum Line".

I love marching bands. In high school, I was in the colorguard (the flag twirlers) and I grew to love the sound of marching bands. Especially cadences because they are so fun to dance to.

I think that it's a waste of time compared to an orchestra or concert band....they put in so many hours but the have little grasp on major musical concepts.

I think marching bands are cool, well... not "cool" but you know... Half of my friends are in marching band, it's fun to watch them and yell at the because they cant talk to people during their "march".
