I'm making a duct-tape prom dress- and I need help with the basic construction.

My cousin did this for his prom. He and his date both created formal wear from duct tape. There were certain rules that had to be followed to enter in the actual "contest". They were able to use a muslin/cotton material. The material was cut for the pattern and the duct tape attached to that. All seams had to be closed with duct tape. These really are amazing outfits.

Wow, I always wondered about a duct tape prom dress myself. I am thinking maybe you could stick it together so the sticky sides are together and then lay it down in strips (overlapping a little) and sew the strips together? After that you could use a regular pattern to cut the bodice and the skirt out? What do you think?

There are scholarships for people who make their own prom dressed out of duck tape. I don't know why but there is you should try researching this :). Good luck with that hope it turns out nicely. Sorry I can't be much help to the question presented. ;p

put on a tank top and wrap that up in duct tape so it wont hurt then find a skirt of your choice and do the same .

my friend made one and she folded the tape over so it was thicker then weaved it....
but then when it was half way done the school said no tape dresses... so find out if its allowed first!

it depends if you like plane or glitz if you like plan i think you should wear a simple dress possibly your favorite or dates favorite color or if you like glitz go all out and buy the best dress but not expensive
