I know when it was founded 150 years or so ago it was very much based on Christianity (hence the C in the name) but these days, it seems like moslty a health club/community center thing. Has their official charter moved away from the religious aspects?

The honest answer would be that the YMCA has moved to the same extent that society has moved. It is still a Christian organization, but not in the prayerful way it once was. Today it follows what it believes to be a modern, across-the-board brand of Christianity. But it welcomes non-Christians into its programs.

its not really religious its there but very very lightly i went for about one year till i started going to my school gym but i am a non christan and i never saw anything there at alll

no it's a family place now or adult place

it might be check it out maybe but i think u will live if u aren't religious
