Yes, I have always had a hard time taking pills for any reason so when I was pregnant (all 3 times) the doctor allowed me to take Flintstones (even the generic brand) during the pregnancies. I had three different Ob's all from different towns and my last two preg's were high risk. You will be fine and they are also cheaper on your budget.

Yes. I took Flinstones vitamins through my entire first pregnancy. The prenatal vitamins made me very sick and gave me a metallic taste in my mouth. The Flinstones have the same folic acid content as a prenatal vitamin. A friend at work had the same problem as I did and was also told by her dr. that Flintstones are just fine. Some people will tell you NO without really knowing the truth and think just because the vitamin does not have the word PRENATAL in front of it that it does not have proper recommended daily values. Your dr. would not tell you to take a vitamin that was not adequate.

At the women's care center they told me two flintstone vitamins can be substiute as one prenatal viamin, bit i think prenatal are better. but if you throw up a lot because of prenatal vitamins that the flintstone's. i did for the first 3 months. the doctor said it might have been the high iron in the prenatal vitamin that made me throw up.

Yes, my midwife told me to take two flintstones and a folic acid vitamin a day because the prenatal vitamins made me nauseas. I never had any problems from it and had a healthy 9 pound baby.

Yup, my best friend takes them. She takes two a day because prenatal vitamins make her sick. Her doc in fact recommended it. So if you'd rather take the Flintstone kind, then go for it. You're getting the same amount of vitamins.

Well they would be better than no vitamin at all, but the nutritional needs of a pregnant woman are different than those of a child, so why would you want to substitiute? I had a problem with taking them when I was pregnant, because of the high iron content. Most women don't get enough iron in their diet, but evidently I did. I was getting too much iron as a result of the vitamins, which was causing me to be constipated! Constipated and pregnant....not fun! My Doctor found another vitamin for me that contained less iron.

Yep, you can substitute children's vitamins (take a double dose) for prenatal vitamins. My doctor recommended them because I couldn't tolerate the iron in the prenatal ones.

Yes. I did Flintstones with all of my kids. It was the doctor's recommendation because the prenatals made me sick.

Prenatal vita's have more iron in them. To much iron could hurt a child. I doubt it. Stick to prenatal.
