That is a hard one to answer for a male.
But from my long life and my experances with women it kinda falls in this order.
1. Women want to be loved and cared for.
2. Women want more then they can have as a woman.
3. They want power that a man can give
4. They want Sex.
5. They want to build a family
6. They want someone they can control
I have not found much women want a man for other then to improve their standard of living and to support their kids that was created by a lust in their lifes. More I guess of a gold digger thing.
Sorry women but I have learned not to trust women I guess I have been taken to many times in my long life.

It's just our nature. It's our maternal instinct. Society says "Women don't need men, men are just 'sperm banks'", but our instinct, heart, and mind says "I need a companion, provider, protector, sole mate, father of my children..." These two clashing ideologies are part of the reasons why girls are so confused in today's age.

Wow. If those are your reasons that you think girls "need" boyfriends then you are wrong. Completely wrong. In reality, girls need boyfriends for many reasons, none of which are the one's you listed. We want to feel protected. We want to be LOVED by someone that doesn't HAVE to love us. We crave that security. Its inherent.

None of the above! They need a friend and protector like my Cyrus is to me! I am deathly afraid of some of the creepy people on this forum and others, so he jumps in here to defend me and helps me when I have computer problems and stuff like that. I mean, what girl WOULDN'T get scared and cry if her email said "page cannot be displayed" one day? I swear, when one of us gets suspended off of here the other will probably delete his/her account! I mean, why would I want to go on asking and answering without Cyrus to stand beside me? And how lonely would he feel if I was the first one to get kicked off? We're even thinking of applying for "voluntary account suspension" as soon as we're high enough above Level 4 that we could afford to lose 10 points for every question we ever posted and still have people seeing "Level 4" when their mouse rolls over us. We might both send emails to Customer Care begging them to delete our profiles so that this is what you see upon clicking our names on whatever of our material still remains:

It can be any of these things... It is hard to work out what peoples' motives are, but if you are in love, then I suppose you have to have faith in your partner...
