Offence is something which is formally an offence under the penal laws of the country. The law gives specific punishment for that offence and define that offence. nothing is an offence if not provided in Law. A crime is another term for an offence but may not be formally defined. Illegal is something which is illegal per se i.e. which is not supported by law. It may or may not be an offence. Not legal is something which is not expressly defined to be legal but traces can be found that this act is neither legal nor an offence. Unlawful is something which is against the spirit of Law, which the law does not want anybody to do but which is not formally an offence. beyond law can be anything which is neither supported by law nor is expected from a person to be committed.

An offence can be a crime. It can also just being rude, impolite, etc. Illegal and not legal are both breaking the law & beyond the law is going over the edge from legal and illegal.

The difference is that the word offense is a legal term used in the law to specify when a specific act is forbidden. The law will then specify exactly what the specific conditions are for the offense.

The other terms are common usage and not legal terms and can have different meanings for different people.

to explain it more clearly, I will give an example that will precisely identify the difference bet ween crime and offence........murder, rape, robbery, cheating, etc. are example of crime, because since the beginning of time these acts are already condemned by society and find it unacceptable, while, possession of illegal drugs, carrying of deadly weapons, entering a private property, etc. are not crime, a few hundreds years ago having a drugs, carrying of weapons and the likes are not punishable offence, only after society finds it dangerous, specially the effect of drugs to users, so they regulate it......violators are offenders not criminals.....killers, rapist, robbers, cheaters, etc are the criminals :-)
