Unfortunately, Windows 2000 and Windows XP stores your Outlook Express contacts and emails in a different area.

Look under the "owner" section of Documents and Settings. (if you have this). When you are not HIDING any system files, then look for Local Settings > Application Data > Identities. You will find your OE email there. So if these files were saved, you can COPY that set of folders into your new computer setup. Go to TOOLS and pick OPTIONS. You can select these folders from the Maintenance section.

If, by saying your computer was fixed, you mean it was reformatted, your e-mail contacts and e-mail are gone. There's a lesson here. At some point, when all is going well, set a "restore point" in Windows. Also, backup anything important to you.

If you have a Yahoo Mail Address List, when In Yahoo Mail, you can click Addresses, then click Export.
Export/Save your addresses to a CSV file type which you will name.

Make note of where you saved the file and the name you gave it.

CSV means "comma separated value" -- each value is separated by a comma, and each record is separated by a "return." This can be updated as you add addresses. You can choose the same location and filename, in which case the new file will overwrite the old.

In this way, if your computer crashes or needs to be reformatted again, you can import the address file back into Yahoo or any other address book.

I'm sure Outlook Express works the same way, that is, it will import or export to and from a CSV file.
