Why is there no channel one?

Because I own channel one and if you watch my TV show your eyes would roll out of their sockets in fear of what the next two seconds may bring! Sorry...

I think it has something to do with the broadcast frequencies for radio and TV. Channel definitions were changed multiple times in the early years of TV and when the last change was put in place the stations didn't renumber so Channel 1 fell off the dial.

Channel one contains the frequencies that taxis, police cars, fire trucks etc use to communicate.

guess if any of them were going to be #1 it would be the speed channel or spike, maybe we should have it changed
