At a camp site yes, but not when they're in my tent or in my mouth. AUGH!

I love to listen to them with the windows open while letting the cool fresh air in. When I was really little I thought the crickets were the sound of the stars twinkling. I associated being outside and looking at the stars with the sound of the crickets and thought it was the stars. If I was out in the winter and saw the stars, I couldn't figure out why they weren't making noise. My husband loves that story, so when we sit outside on a warm summer night or by the fire in the fall, I look up and say "look I can hear the stars twinkling, see they're out". It still makes me smile : )

ah, yah can't just have the crickets, you got to have the sounds of leaves rustling, a stream gurgling, owls hooting, the crickets chirping, twigs snapping as animals scurry around, they all are relaxing sounds. I like camping out, so those sounds are like the most relaxing things ever.

my brother-in-law has a video tape that he made when he went hunting. (Nothing but the sound of very LOUD crickets.) lol
When ppl would come over, he'd answer the door all excited and welcome them in w/ a smile. He would then show them to the couch as he was popping the tape into the vcr, and say, "I have a tape from my hunting trip that I want you to see! It will just take a couple of minutes... "
-and honestly, every single person (yes, including me,) :) teehee... was out like a light within minutes! hahaahaaaaaaaa... to funny...
