I'm late 40's, have been called a MILF, take extremely good care of myself... no facial plastic surgery. I work in sales so I'm around different ppl all the time. When I tell ppl how old my children are, they are shocked and say I look early 30's. What is a nice thing to say, besides just... thank you. Do you think I should tell me real age???

Just stick with the thanks when the people complementing you are customers or others you come into contact with at work. Unless you want to start an in depth discussion about how you stay looking so great, then don't open that can of worms at work. Besides being time consuming, it takes attention away from the sale and focuses it on you.
In addition to the traditional "thank you", you can always add something so that they know you appreciate hearing it, but aren't conceited about your youthful looks. "How nice of you to say so" or "What a sweet thing to say" or "That's very generous of you" etc... A short phrase after can end the subject then and there, and you can get back to your job.

If it's a situation where it's appropriate to reveal your age to a stranger, (getting a new hairstyle, makeup regime, clothing) then I would suggest it. A stylist, cosmetologist, or other person who contributes to your looks shouldn't be making you look like you are still trying to be 20-something at 40-something. A too youthful look only makes you look older than what you really are. To many people, it also looks insecure and/or unsophisticated.
Just be happy with your looks, and make sure to keep things low key about your looks when at work.

I get this alot of the time too. I'm in my mid-forties and look younger. I, too, have taken good care of myself but I also credit genetics. No facial plastic surgery for me either but alot of sun protection wearing hats over the years. I usually say that I got good genetics and that makes me look younger than I am. Sometimes I tell them I have protected my skin from the sun. I only reveal my real age if it comes up into more detailed conversation. The other day it was appropriate and I revealed that I will be 44 next Wednesday and I was told by the woman I was talking to that I look so much younger and that she thought I was just a baby in my 20's.

Hey that same thing happens to me.

I don't no what the hell a MILF is but I took it as a compliment.

Don't you hate it when people say " OH you must have been soooo young when you had children" It makes you feel like you where 12 or something.

I am 38 and I get the same response from everyone I meet. I will always tell my real age, I earned every single year...Why lie about it, especially when you look younger than the number of years you have been on the planet?

No, thank you is sufficient for a compliment. They aren't doing a survey. This happened to me too since I had my children when I was young. If I knew the person well, or thought he/she was literate enough I would add, "but you ought to see the picture in the attic".

Show them gestures of appreciation apart from saying thank you (ie. showing thumb up sign, bow, or smile nicely, etc.). In some cases, its better to tell them your real age, it will shows how honest and practical you are.

Thank you is perfect. You have to know that they're dying to know your real age, but you should only tell them if you're comfortable telling them. It's not anyone else's business.

if you are lucky enough to look young like that, then go with it miss!!!!! if people ask then tell the truth, but if others comments first on how young you look, take it with a smile :)
