2800 sqr ft the math is simple

If the room is a rectangle or a square, measure along adjoining walls. Stand facing a corner and measure the wall to your right and then measure the wall to your left. Multiply one measurement by the other. Be sure to express the measurement in feet and inches as a decimal (example 10 foot 9 inches equals 10.75 feet). If you only need a rough estimate, you can round up or down to nearest foot.
Your example, a 40 x 70 room calculates exactly as you expressed it; 40 x 70=2800 square feet.
Samples 10 foot 6 inches x 15 foot 9 inches = 10.5 x 15.75=165.375 sq ft (or 165 3/8 Sq. Ft.)

You gave the dimensions of the room:
40 ft. x 70 ft.
If you want to calculate square feet, then you are asking for the area.
The area of a rectangle is Length x Width.
Your dimensions are already in the same unit, so just multiply the numbers.
When you multiply 40 times 70, you get 2,800. Feet times feet makes square feet.
2,800 square feet is the answer.

If the length and width are already in feet, just multiply the length and the width.
A square foot is 1 foot long and 1 foot wide. You could divide your (huge) room into 40 strips, each of which has 70 square blocks that are 1 foot by 1 foot.
If your dimensions are not in feet, change them first and then multiply.

Finding square feet

Multiply the Length by the Width

40 feet times 70 feet

40 x 70 = 2800 square feet

Area is determined by multiplying the length by the width. Therefore, 40'x70' = 2800 square feet.

Additionally, you can get the volume or cubic feet by multiplying the length by the width by the height.
So, 40'x70'x lets say 8' = 22,400 cubic feet.

If you have both the length and width of the room in feet, simply multiply the two numbers together. The answer will be in sq. ft.

So your example would work out to 2800 sq. ft.

If your measurements are not both in feet, simply convert them to feet first (or into whatever units you want).

If each and all of the angles interior the room are ninety ranges, then you definately can subdivide the super section into smaller rectangles and/or squares. After doing so, get the guy factors (A = length * width) and upload up a majority of those to get the component to the super room.

This is easy, just multiply one side by the other or in your example: 40' X 70'=2,800 square feet

If by dimensions, you mean "area", you just multiply 40 and 70
