Because they do not have an argument. It is that simple.
When they turn the tables on you and if you fall for it, the focus is off of their guy. Dishonest ppl do this. We, democrats, are honest ppl and we seek honest answers when we ask a question about why or how or when... that is why they catch us off guard sometimes with this deceiving defense.
Here is what I say as soon as I hear or see the word Clinton, "Did you know Clinton was not president anymore?... just wondering because I thought I'd let you know that since you keep talking about him... once again, Clinton is NOT president so you know..."
You can also counter their ignorance by bringing up Reagan's Iran/Contra scandal or Bush Sr.'s World Bank scandal and the fact that both of them used trickle down economics that never trickled and left us with a record breaking deficit. They both also dropped the ball big time on Iraq... there was an actual attempt at a revolution in Iraq in the 80s.. revolution is when you actually DO INVADE because that is when the ppl are asking for help. They both chose to sit on the sidelines.
Also, Reagan armed B.Laden in Afghanistan because Laden was fighting a Russian, communist at the time, invasion there. Reagan's main goal was to bring down communism.. that is why he did this. You could say that Reagan actually armed the terrorist that hate us today.
Bush did lie to those answerer's who are ignorant to facts and politics.
If you would like proof of this with CIA, Bush offices and high ranking military personnel interviews who were involved in giving Bush the information... they have gone on record as saying he knew he was lying in the 2002 State of the Union address about WMDs, then watch

Because the corrupt and criminal Bush administration needs somebody to blame for their failures, Carl Rove and company are the ones that feel they have to divert attention from their inadequacy's and therefore they blame Clinton. As far as I am concerned George Bush, Dead eye Dick Cheney, none of them are capable of carrying the cigar that William Jefferson Clinton used on Monica. None of them have a clue as to how to run a smooth efficient government and the people that still support these criminals should just shut up as they also do not have a clue as to what is going on.

I am not a (repig). I am a INDEPENDENT. but if I had a choise between Bush & Clinton I choose Bush. Like him or not he says what is on his mind. I do not agree with all he does but you know were he stands on the issues. Bill was so wishy- washey you never knew what he stood for,At least GW does not use public emploees for his pleasure.

To cover up their failure at getting Osama. The repubs would LOVE to forget that they claimed Clinton was trying "wag the dog", that is, distract the country from his impeachement hearngs by going after OBL. They all claimed his attempted missile strike to kill a terrorist was less important than nailing him for lying about a bl*wjob.
Now, those same right-wingers try to blame Clinton claiming he "let him go". And that's a lie.
Anyone who disagrees with this, just check the news archives.
There was just an interview with Clinton where he detailed what he did to get osama, and he reminded everyone that the same people who didnt support him in his quest to kill OBL are the same ones trying to blame him for this mess we're in today.
At least Clinton had the balls to admit his failure, if only our current prez had the same integrity.

Because bush and his parrots don't want to take responsibility for their actions. We made a mistake stating Iraq had WMD's. Blame Clinton. The current deficit? Blame Clinton. 9/11? Clinton. bush's daughters screwing up? Definitely Clinton. It's sad....

I don't really know, would it be because we had a balanced budget , paying down the national debt, stock market at an all time high, low unemployment, not starting a war with no reason other than greed over oil or just plain sick of what we have now?
