Just wondering what some people think.

I support the war and cantcu said that means I don't care about our troops even though I do. What do you think?

I think honest, open political debate is healthy for a country. I have to wonder, however, how our troops feel when they see our country so divided.

Lots of folks keep saying this war is like Vietnam (I don't agree). What they can't see, however, is how hard that war was on our troops because of the anti-war sentiment. Our soldiers came back from Vietnam and got spit on.

Supporting the war is supporting the work the troops are doing.

Supporting our troops has nothing to do with supporting the war. The troops are doing their jobs. Their job is being soldiers. The Pres sends them where they need to be. I don't believe in the Iraq war, but I believe in our men and women who are fighting for us and their lives...

No it means that you also support our troops. You can support anything you want, whether it be the troops and not the war or both the war and the troops.

It is irrelevant whether you care about the troops. Unless you are doing something 'real' in support, then it is a meaningless statement.

I'm not sure if your support means much. Tell me what "I support our troops" really means. Does it make any difference to anyone? They are just empty words, unless you are actually doing something in support.

I think our governments should have more respect for the troops, by only going to war when necessary, and by being upfront and honest, and by paying them a reasonable wage, and by supporting their families who, even in the best circumstances, are in a terrible position. Even worse. if someone comes back terribly wounded, or not at all, the government shows little genuine regard for the family.

Your government is a disgrace.

In my eyes it sounds to me like you are supporting Iraq. If you want to support our troops then Pray and Stand up for America, don't send or show support some where else!

Does supporting the war in Iraq mean you don't support our troops?

It's whatever YOU feel is right!!

I don't think the troops care either way. They have a mission and they have to focus on that mission. Not to mention the fact that they are too busy trying to LIVE to think about us.

I guess cantcu is saying if you support the war, you support sending the troops to die.

No, supporting the war makes you a gullible idiot, but supporting the troops is a good thing. Remember the war was started based on lies from our president they was no reason at all for attacking Iraq and its people. It is just a shame that 2700 of our people and 10's of thousands of Iraqi, men, woman, and children have to die for a war that should have never been.

Supporting the pointless war, and supporting the troops are like chalk and cheese. I wish the troops could be polled (without fear of punishment) on what they think 'Honest George' is hoping to achieve there? A 'War on Terror' that is producing more terror?
Sounds pretty dumb to me. It means producing more 'terrorists', which means more people are out to kill the troops. For every one 'terrorist' you kill, your action produces two more? Sounds VERY dumb to me!

Love the warrior, hate the war.

To elaborate a tad, I think our armed services are the most poorly managed resource right now. Insufficient body armor, lack of complete training, and strained lines of communication are hurting our troops more than any group of angry hippies sitting out near Bush's ranch in Crawford, TX. Axe Rumsfeld, stabilize Iraq as best as can be, and PULL OUT before our dumb leader sacrifices any more of our sons and daughters.
