I'm Looking to feed a pet snake and would like to purchase live mice, not the frozen ones... are there good places to get these? Not from an area where i can just walk around the corn field and find them.

Most pet shops that sell snakes of any kind should sell common mice for feeding purposes. Although feeding frozen is the recommended method, snakes do have a prey drive that perfers live for the hunt. You also want to be careful when feeding live. Mice and rats have been know to put up a fight and harm the snake. You should try a reptile specialty shop or a PETCO. I don't know about your area, but the PetSmart where I live will not sell mice for feeding.

You can get them at most pet shops. Price depends on the age of the mice. Some snakes require pinkies (tiny, no hair), some need hoppers (hair but not coordinated enough to run around), some need small mice, and some need large. Rarely will a mouse be more than $3 or $4 and that is for a full-grown one.

Go to your local pet store. Not sure where you're from, but if there's a petsmart or petco around, that would be perfect, if not, most pet stores have mice and rats for sale. Even if they are a little bigger than your snakes head, he will have no problem turning that mouse into a delicious snack.

Your local pet store should have some available for a couple of bucks. If you can, buy a pair and breed them. Mice are sexually mature in only 3 weeks so it won't take long to have all you need. Maybe then you could sell some back to the pet store and make yourself some money. Good luck

Oh my....Do not buy from petsmart or petco, those are PET QUALITY mice and more expensive.

Find a reptile store, they ALWAYS carry feeder mice.

Pinkies are usually .50 cents
Fuzzies and hoppers under a dollar
small to jumbo mice 1-1.50

Usually they are not more than $1.80 for an adult mouse in a reptile store.

Good luck to you!!!
