After reading the article, I definitely see that the developers are abusing it just as a way to make more money. It's been a trend in recent years, anyone remember the fight to keep the developers from taking over the homes in Connecticut? I have this funny feeling that these condos are part of a bigger plan...gentrification. Something tells me that they're building these condos for the wealthy people so they can have a 'decent' place to live without any of what they consider to be the 'crazies' and 'undesirables' living amongst them.

How is protecting your self "conservative"? seriously - if you're actually no longer prepared to preserve your self and loved ones - then do no longer stay in places the position there would nicely be larger than favourite homicide and crime. Sounds clone of the mayor is giving sound advice.
