Yes. There's no reason not to do this. Only uptight weirdos think the only place to have sex is locked away in your bedroom in the dark after you're married. A partner is not required but it's nice to have someone to share it with...

Yep! Sex under the stars in a canyon between Vancouver, B.C. and Whistler, during a full moon rave party, while on at least four psychoactive substances.
That was one FUN party!
