Same reason we give so much foreign aid to Africa. We're just nice that way.

Actually, Israel is phasing out much of American aid, and much of the military aid it receives (over 70 percent) is required by contract to be spent in America, creating jobs here. And as for "killing civilians" that's a smoke screen. Hezb and Hamas have been accused repeatedly by the Red Cross and others of hiding behind civilians. They even hid behind the UN peace keepers and are guilty according to international law of war crimes for using peace keepers as shields. But that's just law...I can see how you might ignore it.

Because the israeli poltical action committees own Congress and the White House. They are the most powerful political force in DC. AIPAC is the most powerful group, look who speaks at their meetings--every major congressional leader from both parties, plus the president. Also, look at who is making the contributions to the candidates. Easily found on the web, under the federal election commission. Israel certainly holds no strategic location for us, they do not allow us to have bases there or put troops in Israel, they just want our $ and weapons.

Because Israel cannot survive on its own. That is, without the US Jews and the infamously powerful US Jewish lobby.
That is why the enormously powerful US Jewish lobby gives out large donations to campaigns in districts where Jews don't even live so as to swing elections towards pro-Israel politicians. For reference see the 1998 Cynthia McKinney congressional run.

What?suddenly your not too happy with that. I thought so.
Israel won two wars against you guys before american aid and can do it again.
