Use the STO> button.
Type in 6.022*10^23+STO>+whatever variable you want to store as.
There's an online guidebook at http://education.ti.com/educationportal/sites/US/productDetail/us_ti84p.html?bid=6 , by the way.

Hope I'ved helped! =)

You can store a value in a variable to be recalled later.
On the TI-83+ (as with similar graphing calculators) you have a wide range of choices as to just which variable you would like to store the value under.
Press the "STO -->" button followed by the character to store it under (A-Z), and then press "ENTER". If done correctly, it should store whatever value is the left of the "-->" character into the variable desired.

For example, Press...
6
[STO-->]
X
[ENTER]
and the value 6 should be stored within the X variable. To check, press X, then [ENTER] and this should display the value contained within the variable.
