We have been there once before and left so now it is happening all over again. If we leave now then we will just be going back later. We should stay and finish the job. Why do people want us to just give up?

Some people have deluded themselves into believing this is another Vietnam.

The radical islamic terrorists will claim a victory over the US if we leave short of a clear win.

Then, we will live under the constant threat of terror strikes. Every wannabe terrorist will try to attack us.

This is nothing like Vietnam.

War is supposed to be for a real reason, not based on lies. That is the first reason why 'leftists', or intelligent people with a respect for humanity, are a little agitated to start with.

Further, what has been achieved in Iraq, except for total carnage? Nice work. Do you think there are more or less people aligned against America and its western allies? I think more, and growing support every day because of our despicable behaviour in the lead up to the war, and ever since.

Should we leave? No we shouldn't, but that doesn't mean we are doing a good thing, or that left leaning people are wrong in saying that the war was a shocking idea, based on lies, and that the world is now a more dangerous place, where average Muslims are more likely to support their idiotic, violent extremists, especially as the hypocrisy is not new.

Your government is a disgrace.

By the way. nice work in Afghanistan too... Well done.

Plain and simple: politicians playing to scared Americans. The dems want to pull out now, but what purpose would that serve? While they play games in Washington, our troops are getting killed. Thngs that would keep our men and women safe, are tied up in a bs political debate. They are only out to serve themselves and could care less about the people dying. Do you really think that if we left Iraq now we would be safer? Look at it! It would turn into a fertile breeding ground for terrorists and Islamic extremists. As far as Vietnam, the only thing similar is politics. As someone who wil be leaving for the Army soon, I just hope Washington doesn't let me down. Support The TROOPS!

Because they want America to look bad while Bush is President. It is how Leftists try to get themselves into power. They cause as much trouble as possible then insist they should be elected to fix the troubles.

They may not actually fix the troubles - the left-loving Press will just talk nice about things for a change so people think there are less troubles.

The Iraq war has been won. Nearly all the conditions of Clinton's Iraq Liberation Act have been achieved by Bush. All that is left is for us to help Iraq's legitimately elected government train its security forces to deal with internal trouble-makers. Even Saddam had problems with the Islamists. They are nothing new.

If we pull out of Iraq, we will hand the country over to some of the meanest, nastiest Islamists in the world. It would be worse than Afghanistan was. I can't believe anyone would be dumb enough to want to do that!!

Not sure we should just bug out like we did in Viet Nam, however, if we do not set clear standards for troop withdrawal there is no incentive for the Iraqui military to step up. Would you go fight if some foreigners were willing to do it for you??

Also please note that according to CIA report published this weekend, our involvement in Iraq has made us less safe from terrorism, and the CIA people are the professionals here.

People want us to give up because they are ignorant of the past. They think it will be so much better, but Iraq is in no shape whatsoever to sustain itself. People there get killed by their OWN COUNTRYMEN.

There's no hope in Iraq. Just get out and let our soldiers live.

It is a war we should never started as a report released yesterday said we have just increased terrorism!

We are going to do nothing further in Iraq except get our troops killed!

You may not care, but you don't support the troops anyway!

Why don't you join and kiss a IED!!

(My answer is totally an IMPARTISAN response) - I feel that we are staying in Iraq in order to avoid causing another Siagon-situation that still is an eye-sore in our craw. Many of my own colleagues who actually grew up in that Asian-mishandling (of ours) still has many bad memories of our "management" of situations, there.
And I see our intervention in Iraq as another foothold for a "BUSH-itis" that we have grown so accustomed to. (Far too many to mention, here.)
^These are merely two of the many replies to HOWAMIGONNA console USA's confidence.

There was no poing in going into Iraq. Did we find any weapons, the reason we went in there for? no.. it was all planned to get attention out of Bin Laden.
