It takes a lot of work to show our work. Do you think you could show your work, even if it is wrong?
Start by plugging in:
(-1/2)(1/4) - (-1/2)((1/4)^2)

Okay -- this is at least the fifth question you've posted from your math homework in the last five minutes. YOU show YOUR work and we'll help you figure out where you're making errors (if any). Or be specific -- what do you not understand about solving this? Usually, trying it yourself and showing your work is the best way for a math teacher to help you correct your problems.
