It's actualy "A friend in need is a friend in deed". This gives the double meaning of "a friend indeed", meaning that a friend that helps you when you're in need with deeds is a friend "indeed"

Sometimes the only way to really know isn't until you're in the middle of something where you need a friend. Some will pull away and others will stand by you. Until then, open yourself to the possibilty that the people that are in your life, are there for the right reasons. Giving people the benefit of the doubt has great rewards...

It may be a long process but you have to find someone that you can really trust with your secrets, you have to be able to confide in them, depend on them to be there and not judge you no matter what you do or how you feel.

the only way to know is by the action of the friend. Words are easy but the actions says it all.

To know then someone is a true friend is when they listen to you. Unselfishness..when you are speaking they really are listening to you. Want to help. Not interupt with their own issues until yours are resolved. Willing to help you as long as they are not hurting themselves.

A friend in need is a friend indeed is how that expression goes.

A real friend is someone who is there for you and wants nothing more then your company.

You know if someone is your friend because they are always there for you when you need them. If you are always there for them & then when you need them they are not there for you then they are not your friend.

Your friend is a friend when they don't lie to your face and back stab you, try to take your boyfriend, and last but not least borrow things and not return them back
