Go to www.toshiba.com they have a list of the models that are affected by the recall, they also say even if you don't have a problem with your battery you should have it replaced because they give no warning before going dead.
Toshiba Customer Service 1-800-457-7777, they usually have a long wait time.

Type in, sony battery recall, see if that works.
The affected battery type and number might be there.
Dell did a GREAT job replacing my battery.
It was easy, and done so quickly.

You can go to the Sony website. www.sony.com or www.sonystyle.com and check the serial numbers of the batteries.

You can go to http://www.consumerreports.com and see if your battery manufacture date and model are on their list of those affected.
