1. They are short, have big feet, they eat a lot, they prefer to live underground, their feet are hairy, as a rule they avoid work, also as a rule they avoid adventures, their noses are bulbous, their hair is curly, they don't wear shoes.
2. The Tooks were once warriors and that is why they are so unusual because this is not a hobbit trait strictly.
3.Originally in the hobbit, Gandalf needed one more person to join the troupe and as they needed a thief, he faked it and as Dwarves are superstitious by nature Bilbo ended up being last man addition.
4.He was only expecting Gandalf for tea, but got a lot more than he expected.
5. What irked Bilbo about the uninvited guests was that he had to feed them all, they were treating him like a waiter and they just wouldn't leave. Also they were messing up his house.
6. I think it scared the living crap outta him. Also I think he was scared of the adventurous spirit rising within him.
