Many beta-lactam antibiotics, such as penicillins, have been known to decrease the efficacy of female hormone-based contraceptives. But many, like cephalexin, don't. See a physician for any infections that need to be treated while taking birth-control.

Yes I did and if you read the disclaimer on the pill box it makes that very clear. It is fun how many people to medication and they do not read what is on the box.

I have heard of that. If you look on the antibiotics warning label, it should be able to tell that to you. But most antibotics can have that effect.
