It is a personal choice but if you do you need to think nutrition and finding other places for the vitamins, protein and minerals you will miss by the loss of meats. Most Vegetarians neglect this and have health issues.

to do it right is not as easy as it may seem. You have to learn which foods to eat together to get complete protein. Some people will hassle you about not eating meat. I gave it up after a couple of years.
