We recently bought our first home. We want to invite family and friends over to celebrate but are not sure if it is okay for us to host our own housewarming.

Of course. Someone else wouldn't do that for you because it's your house. You are the one that will be showing everyone the rooms and such so throw a big schibang! Congrats!

Showers you arent suppost to throw for yourself (ie wedding/bridal shower or baby shower), Parties you can!
