I am studing for a history test tomorry; YES, ii know, i should've been studied. But I didn't. I would like to know: Out of the 13 colonies which were MAINLY formed for religious reasons, and which were MAILY formed for economic reasons! Massachusetts
Pennsylvania
Rhode Island

Economic
Virginia
Carolinas

The southern colonies (Maryland, Virginia and further south) were founded for economic reasons. Massachuset, Rhode Island and Pennsylvania were definitely for religious reasons. New Amsterdam (New York) was not an English colony to begin with.

Well, the more central and western states were more religious, since southern colonies began harvesting and growing crops, and the north was used for lumber.
