Do not speak ill of others - no matter what. Never speak highly of yourself nor brag about anything you have done, particularly if you helped someone in need. Let THEM speak highly of you, if at all.
Smile to all, whether you like them or not. Never see yourself as better than another.
If someone has a view different from yours, smile and say, "I never thought of it that way." That's not to say you agree with them, just that you were attentive to them and you commented nicely on what they said.
Don't spread rumors. If you didn't see something with your own eyes, don't spread it around.
Remember these rules: "See no evil. Hear no evil. Speak no evil." And of course, "Do unto others, what you would have them do unto you."
Pick up a few books on the subject of etiquette and the Golden Rule and study them. It takes practice and patience.

well i don't know if being well mannered really depends on how they dress. but i think someone who says please, thank you for all things (dinner, etc) opens doors for people, does little nice things without expecting something in return, is generally a nice person. someone who isn't rude, is very polite, has good manners at the dinner table, doesn't talk bad about other people, etc.
