I think it was former President Jimmy Carter because he told us the truth, even tho' it wasn't always what we wanted to hear. I admire him to this day for all the charity work he does. Also, the late Jack Kennedy was a great president, too. He served in the military before becoming president, and kept US from war with Cuba/Russia, among other things.

In my opinion, Jimmy Carter was. His cabinet didnt have a single scandal, he tried to make peace instead of wanting to kick everyones a$$, and HE is the one who got the hostages free from Iran (Reagan got the credit for it, though).

Lincoln, because he did everything in his power to make sure that the people who lived in the US could not be owned by anyone else. That was such a sad part of our history and he did all he could to make it better.

w/o digging into history i'll go w/ the ones since i've been alive. reagan's 1st term was great. his alzheimers started kicking in on the 2nd term though. he meant business and Iran released hostages upon his nomination, knowing what they would face otherwise. he got things done.

John F Kennedy- he would have done so much if he wasn't assasinated. He really had an open mind.
