i think adults get more lazy ever year...Also they have a car to get them where they need to go, but at the same time gas is so high they should buy a bike and ride it

Because most adults have too much responsibility impinging on their time. When you ride a bike to work or to the store it takes more time than it does to drive a car. How would mom take the young kids along? Get the shopping done? Etc.etc.etc.
This is my view.

Because we are too heavy. This is the real reason.
When you are younger, riding a bike is a blast! I rode one up to age 14. I tried to ride them as an adult, but my weight was too much burden on my legs to keep pedaling. Too painful.

(1) Not as physically fit as when they were younger.
(2) Afraid of being run over/hit by cars.
(3) Afraid of being mugged (it CAN happen).
(4) Weather (rain/cold/etc.)
(5) Commute distance is too long (may need to use a bus part way, though...).
(6) Afraid they look dorky/ugly (yeah, a pride thing...).
(7) Just Plain Lazy...

Because so many are out of shape and wouldn't last long riding one. This may be crude too, but their butts are too fat and many would just rather sit around!

Lots of people ride bikes. Just depends on where you are. But most people prefer to drive as it's faster, safer, more efficient and not as tiring. :)

Driving is quicker. Also, if you have to drop your kid off someplace, or get a lot of groceries, doing so on a bike doesn't cut it.

They don't have enough time. They also are lazy, and often inactive. Plus, they can drive. I think more should. It would get them in shape, and save the environment.
