Ok first no story is missing something,

But first once a person is charged with the crime, it stops the clock on statue of limitation, SOL only applies to a crime from the time the crime happened to the time a person is charged with it.

But a person is not charged, let out on bail and then forgotten for 14 years. The case would have had to be dismissed or a warrant out for that person.

So basicly he just can't still be out on bail for 14 years ( ok maybe he could be from a legal point of view but it would not happen.

At this point, any evidence would be long gone so if it is true, merely demand a speedy trial and get case dismissed.

a million) there is not often, if ever, a statute of barriers on the alternative of a debt, see you later because the creditor has been attempting to make a restore. 2) The state they are in would not count number for that reason, for the reason that they sued you contained in the state that you stay in. 3) It *would*. this is going to matter upon some complicated questions of Texas civil technique although, and the info of your case. 4) The statute of barriers is practically easily no longer out- somewhat if it really is lengthy previous to collections, and changed into served on you very last 3 hundred and sixty 5 days. 5) once you've been served with papers, that changed into your be conscious that you had to make sure the date from the courtroom- no longer anticipate them to the contact you. the different legal professional wouldn't have a duty for preserving you as a lot as this aspect on your responsibilities. And as far as evidence of the debt, they are not required to "instruct" it to you earlier you settle to flow to courtroom. you've been sued and served- it really is as a lot because the courtroom to make your ideas up in case you owe. There will be guidelines with regards to discovery of info, yet an casual request like it somewhat is not likely to set off them. 6) Your only wish now must be to the contact an legal professional and want it really isn't any longer too late for them to variety it out. With a default judgment entered hostile to you, you would have waived any protection you had through no longer showing as a lot as courtroom.

I hate to tell you this but my son in law, who beat my daughter, was let off on numberous drug charges and physical abuse charges because he was a dealer and could bargain with them and rat out other dealers. He was more of an asset for the cops out of jail then in. This is so unfair and dangerous for the public. My daughter left him and he harrasses her constantly. Everytime she calls the police they threaten her telling her that they are going to jail her and do nothing to him.
I figure one of these days someone will figure out who has been ratting them out and he'll pay for it.
I am not sure what the statute currently is in NY. I couldn't find anything but the fact that they do have a statute of limitations.
I can tell you that person probably has an outstanding warrant for his arrest.
