yes, but put the trap into an old shoebox (cardboard with a hole cut in the side) or a empty tissue box. That way, you dont have to touch it. just throw the whole thing away.

Peanut butter is the best thing to use. I guaranteed you, put the peanut butter in the mouse trap, and if you have a mouse you'll have it before morning.

From my own experience, the best way to catch a mouse with a mouse trap is to put peanutbutter in the corner of a baggie (just a regular sandwich bag will do), then twist the corner shut leaving a long twisted tail, and cut it from the rest of the bag. Then take the long twisted tail, and tie it to the bait table on the mouse trap. Why this works is... the mouse can still smell the food, and will have to gnaw its way into the bag to get the food, and when it starts to gnaw, WHAM! The trap snaps shut....cruel isn't it? But very effective! Good Luck!

My family always used peanut butter...it sticks to the trap better and so the mouse is less likely to get away with the goods.

Mice love peanut butter.

If you've got a problem with mice, use the peanut butter as bait for the electronic trap (see link below). You'll be able to pick them up in any Wal-mart, K-mart or Target- type store. They cost a bit (under $20) but they are reusable and they work wonderfully!

Mice like peanut butter more than cheese. In the 70's or maybe it was the 80's, well any way.... there was a scary movie came out titled "Weird Willy", I won't go into detail but a pack of mice attacked a man. The stunt man was interviewed on T.V. and he said the suit he was wearing was soaked in peanut oil to attract the mice. That raised my curiosity so I did some research and learned that mice love peanut butter.

Peanut butter is even better than cats. I know, I've done both.

But I'm a softy, I use peanut butter in a live trap (and yes there are little bitty live traps for mice), and let the beasties go.

Peanut butter is one of the best things to use in the trap for several reasons. #1 It has a strong enough scent to attract them #2 Unlike cheese, they cannot grab it and run, they have to eat it off of the trap increasing the chances of the trap catching them and #3 they seem to love it. I have used it in the garage to catch field mice looking for warmth in winter and it works every time.

Yes! They love peanut butter. I have always caught mice this way. Don't use cheese. It just dries out and gets hard. The peanut butter stays nice and soft. They have to climb up there to lick it off.
