The docs office immediately sent me to get a blood test done to see if I was pregnant, b/c I didn't know how long the ring was out before I found it. I know sperm can stay in your body for 5 days before it connects with the egg... I've been sick on my stomach and exhausted for over a week now. My breasts are not sore tho. (I have a 7 month old tho that I quit breastfeeding just a couple months ago) Is it possible that I could be pregnant and it just didn't show up in the lab test?

A blood test can tell if you are pregnant faster than any other test. According to the manufacturer, if your Nuvaring is out more than 3 hours, you should use a backup form of birthcontrol. All this depends on when your period is due in relation to when you had intercourse. If you are still nervous, ask your doctor for another blood test. At this point if you are having symptoms, then the results of the blood test will be conclusive.

you are probably safe.. if the tests came back negative. If you still feel pregnant, or never get your period, in two weeks. Ask to be tested again. I was on the nuva ring for a while and hated it for that very reason. It was like playing ring toss. I lost it several times and did not know it until I found it days later under the bed, or caught up in the sheets. I personally suggest a different form of birth control because this will probably happen again. For now though, try to hang in there. You should get your period this week or next week. If you don't take another test. Good luck.

Girl im glad u asked this cause i keep telling my friends who are on the ring to change to something else.They are having the same trouble u are. Thats just to risky especially if u have one child already that ur taking care of. Get the pills and take them everyday on time. Ortho Tri cyclen lo , does work if taken properly , ive been on it for almost 3 years, all my doctors appointments are good, and i ve had no pregnancy scares since ive been on it.
