Absolutely 100% correct. They took it for too long. I was there a year before this occured and I saw how close those rockets were when they came into Israeli territory.

Picture this: Imagine where you live and then imagine the nearest supermarket, pretty close eh? Then imagine someone shooting rockets from that supermarket toward your house at least twice a month and at random. Oh and then add the thought that those doing it do not want any people of your particular faith to be alive and they dont want to recognize your right to live in your home, in your town, in your state in your country!!!

This was going on with Hezbollah LONG before they kidnapped the sldiers that triggered the offensive.

No,they weren't...Now it seems that Israel will negotiate the release of the soldiers...thing that could have been done before...without so many people dead and without so many destruction...But Israel wanted to show its strength and in the end they lost...If Israel is really the only civilized country in the Middle east(as they like to claim) they wouldn't have acted like salvages attacking Lebanon, they would have negotiate...
They were so wrong 'cos in the end all this Israel-Hezbollah conflict turned into an Israel-Lebanon's civilian conflict...Since Israel didn't expect such a strong response from Hezbollah they did as much damage as they could to the Lebanese civilian infrastructure and killed many civilians thinking that maybe the Lebanese would get angry at Hezbollah ...considering them to be guilty for this whole conflict...But they were wrong again...
Israel really over reacted this time and the saddest thing is that no one reacted to this aggression...or they reacted when it was already to late...

The reality is, they went too far. They were surprised by Hezbollah's strength. Because of that, Hezbollah gained support. In other words, it backfired.

No. Israel went too far. Check out Al Jazeera or other non-mainstream news sources. You can see the results of what Israel did.

Yes it was. Hezbollah were firing hundreds of rockets into Israel. For some reason the terrorist and anti-Semitics seem to want to overlook that fact.

was it correct in doing it, yes,

Sadly Hezbollah had broken thier communication code and Irsreal had to try to fight an enemy hiding near schools and apartment buildings.

I believe a much larger ground force would have done a better job.

The only thing Israel did wrong was to stop their offensive. They should have continued on and wiped them out.
