Put the dogs outside, and then start looking for it.

What type of snake? Corn snakes tend to try to go up high, so look for them in the back of picture frames hanging on the wall and stuff. You can lay out traps, too. cut the top of a 2 liter soda bottle, then put it back in, creating a funnel to the inside of the bottle. Stuff a mouse in, and then the snake goes in, eats the mouse, and either cant find the way out, or is too fat to go back through the hole. You can also turn off all the lights in the room, put plastic bags all around, hold a flashlight, and just wait. When you start hearing crinkling noises, point the flashlight toward the sound and look for the snake.

I'm not going to recommend it, but if absolutely neccesary, use a glue trap. You get those paper glue thingies, and the snake crawls on it and gets stuck. I think you're supposed to get it off with vegetable oil, but I'm not sure, so look it up and only do it as a last resort. Sometimes snakes are lost for months and then turn up.

You've already gotten alot of good replies,, but mostly remember that they like heat!!! Look under your frig... The motor from it is warm and he may go there for the warmth... Make his cage accesible to him because of the heat there also,, and put a mouse inside his cage and leave it in the box they come in from the pet store to attract him.. As long as you don't think your dogs will kill him, they may actually help you out because they might sniff him out and bark when they see him, don't let the dogs roam around if you keep them in the area where his cage is, but at the same time,, they might scare him and make him hide more.. As long as noone in your house is freaking out,, just be patient,, and keep your house as closed up as possible.. Make sure everyone around knows so they don't panic if hes seen, Him being cold will make him move slower. You didn't mention what kind he is or his size.. Is he large???

Umm... I'm not sure. I once found a lizard in my house, we looked for days to try to find it, I still don't know what happend. Is it a pet snake? I'd say start in one room and go to the next. Maybe if it has any food put it in a specific place and watch that area for a little bit.

Well the dogs might harm the snake, i take it its not poisonous or else you wouldnt have let it get out. If it is i suggest letting the dogs find it. Otherwise, turn you Ac on high, close all your doors and search each room seperatly.

I lost my corn snake when I moved and to knock on the neighbours doors to warn them incase it had got through the skirting. Great way to get to know them!!! It turned up 3 days later near her viv, hungry I suppose. I have a dog and he completely ignores it. I was more worried my baby had picked it up tried to bite it!

Don't panic and don't look too far away.

If your room is warm than it will be in the room. When my snake got out I always found it within 10 feet of its cage and within 4 feet most of the time. Look under dressers and bed and in drawers and bookshelves. Check your bed too. If your room is cold than check the nearest warm dark place. Keep quiet.

If you lost it in another room then the same basic principles apply. Check under and between cushions and in dark places.

Good luck.

Look in any dark spaces where a snake will feel safe and secure such as behind/under furniture.
When my snakes escaped we discovered them under the house itself.

Its happened to several times over the years, but they always seem to turn up. Crossing the floor at night, or in a dresser drawer. Your dogs will probably find it first and alert you to it.
My cat found one for me.
