Last night I had some mild burning sensations in my abdominal area that continued for about an hour. It was not cramps, it was not a stomachache, but slight burning that happened every 2 minutes or so. It felt like it was coming from "down there" but kinda above it? Hard to explain. This was NOT when I was urinating. Also in the past couple of weeks, on some days, my urine was cloudy. I don't think I'm dehydrated; I am not sexually active. (However in the past I had UPJ and UVJ obstructions & I think vesicoureteral reflux - because I've had many UTI's before and took antibiotics for it)

Evidently you have something that is causing pain. The cloudy urine might be a clue. UTI's don't go away by themselves. Generally it requires antibiotic therapy. With your past history of urinary infections, it's reasonable to think that's the trouble. But see your doctor to make sure, and don't delay. That will only make the problem worse.

I have been plagued with UTI's since the age of 17 (I am 51 today!!!) Yeh! Happy Birthday To Me!!!! Definitely Cranberry Juice is #1- and yes, Water plenty of it!!! When you have the "urge" to urinate, I know you probably don't want to drink alot, because you know you will inevitably have to Pee again" and it is painful!- You definitely need to get to the doctor and have a urinalysis done- That is the only way to tell if there is bacteria present. If there is: I have always been prescribed Sulfa and Pyridium. (Pyridum is a little pill that changes your urine to a bright orange color and immediately stops the pain, burning, etc). It is fantastic for UTI's. Avoid caffeine, and spicy foods will irritate the urethra, and make the burning worse. It you start an antibiotic for a urinary tract infection and don't finish it, (most people stop after a couple of days because the symptoms disappear), the infection will come back-; usually worse. Always Finish all of your medicine.

I agree! Cranberry Juice in large quantities helps along with lots of water! Drink at least 8 glasses of liquid each day when you are back to normal. This will keep the UTI's away. If you do have an infection you need to get an antibiotic to heal from it. Don't delay, it can trun into a kidney infection and that is VERY painful!

I would try drinking lots of cranberry juice and water. There is also an over the counter UTI medication now call Azzo. You can purchase it at a drug store. If they symptoms get worse be sure to see your doctor. UTIs can get VERY painful if they go untreated.
