People who work in morges are forensic pathologists (medical examiners), coroners, and autopsy technicians. People who work in mortuaries are called morticians.
A mortuary and a morgue are not the same thing. A mortuary is a funeral home whereas a morgue is a bulding or room in a hospital where dead bodies are brought initially.

No the supervisor of a morgue is called a Coroner and those who work under a Coroner is called a Coroner's Assistant.
A mortician is a technician who works in a Funeral Home that prepares a corpse for Wake Service and Funerals. Some religions do not want the services of a mortician such as Judaism because they consider tampering with a body by anyone to be a desecration. That is why its their custom to bury the body within 24 hours of the person dying.

Depends on which person you are referring to. The person on the gurney is called dead, the deceased, the body. The person who performs the autopsy is refered to as the pathologist or coronor, the attendant is called a morgue attendant, and the person who prepares the body for burial is usually called a mortician. The suffix -ologist usually indicates a person who studys a particular subject. So far as I know, there is no such thing as a study of morgues.

Medical examiners or coroners usually are in charge of a morgue. They generally have one or more people to assist them. Their titles and credentials can vary by state.
A morgue assistant used to be called a "diener" [DEE-ner] but you don't hear that much anymore. This was the guy who did the grunt work and the dirty jobs.
