I absolutely love Gilmore Girls and was wondering if anyone knew who sings those "La la la la la la la" songs that are always in the background playing, and if you have any Dvd's of Gilmore Girls, the song, that this one particular person sings in many different versions, is always playing on the Home menu. I know the songs are basically just "Lala" over and over, but I love it, and maybe you know who sings it? I'm curious to find this singer. =]

It's not "Where you lead" I'm sure. Do you know what I'm talking about? I'm guessing they're not really real songs they're just "Lala"s.

I believe the background vocals and music are provided by a female artist named Sam Phillips.

Here's part of an article I found (I also posted the web link):

"We never thought in a million years that we'd get the actual Sam Phillips," Sherman-Palladino says. "We thought she'd say, 'No, I'm a recording artist, forget it.' But she said yes. We were stunned."

Indeed, Phillips has been "Gilmore's" music supervisor since Day 1. It is her milky, ethereal vocals that bridge scenes and serve as distinctive background music for the series.

"Where You Lead"
by Carole King & Louise Goffin

I think you can buy it on iTunes. There may also be a Gilmore Girls CD.

By the way, I love the song too!
