Sounds like the Asian Lady Beetle. Does it bite? Does it stink when you squish it and leave an orange mark? They are awful out in the bean fields here in Minnesota. They were developed at Iowa State Univ. to eat aphids on crops, but they don't have a natural predator, so they went out of control. We had literally thousands come out of the field and sit all over our house. They try to get inside for the winter. They are a pain. Many people have to hire exterminaters to spray the outside of their house.

There are so many different species of beetle that it is almost imposable to tell good from bad with out a program.
But if your tiny beetles are eating Bugs not Plant Parts then they are some type of Lady Beetle, and there are many types world wide. So check your plants for Aphids and Mealy Bug the favorite food of Lady Beetles and if they are present than the Beetle is a type of Lady Beetle, no other bugs!!! WATCH FOR HOLES IN THE LEAVES OF YOUR PLANTS!

What you have are Asian lady bugs and they are neither good nor bad. They come into houses when the weather cools. Some years are worse than others. They do no harm so it's kind of pointless to call in an exterminator. I simply keep vaccuuming them up.
