The Pope was just quoting someone. He said it wasn't his opinion. There is nothing to apologize for.

There is nothing anyone can do to make the fanatics happy.

They protest being called violent by killing a Nun. How nuts is that?

We shouldn't blame him entirely. It was a quote, nothing more. Obviously, these days, any reasons will set those muslims off, so his words were not the wisest. But, their responses were as bad. So...complicated! But im glad he didn't directly apologize, good for him! Freedom of speech!!

The Pope to me is just another human being born like us all. I 'm not for or against him. I only believe in God and I'm not Catholic. I think anyone should say their sorry if they made any kind of mistake or hurt anyone.

No, I think it is completely irresponsible to make remarks like the ones he did being the leader of a religion. I think that as the leader of the Catholic faith he should promote the understanding between religions and not open the rift between them that he did with his comments. Furthermore, I think that he should've said a honest "I am sorry, I ****** up" instead of the lame "you misunderstood me" that he gave.

I have no opinion, but the Muslim response was predictable.

I think because he was *quoting* somebody else, he shouldn't have to do anything else than he did. He said that he was sorry if it caused problems, and that's seriously all you can expect from somebody.

I don't think he apologized because he meant what he said. I have no opinion on his comments.
