I agree. A facial and a peel is probably the way to go to start out. I love Photofinish by Smashbox and Laura Mercier's foundation primer is also a good one. Photofinish has silicone in it and will create a smooth, poreless base for foundation. Be careful of the heavier foundations though, even with something like photofinish, they are going to settle in crevices and just look cakey and maskey. Opt for a lighter formula, maybe even Bare Escentuals as long as you use a primer first. Good luck!

I've tried Bare Minerals and wasn't impressed at all. What works great to hide pores is Chanel Double Perfection Creme Powder Makeup. It is more expensive than others that I've tried but it last a while and looks great on.

I can't say for the foundation, I would defintely recommend oil free though, but the most important part, especially as you age you may experience dryer skin, is to exfoliate well, I swear by St. Ives apricot scrub try the gentle version, and heres the magic bullet, YVES ROCHER Pore minimizer, it come in a little green pot apply it after washing and you'll notice a difference FAST. I love their products. I live in Belgium but I'm sure you could find them everywhere...Good Luck and have fun!

Hi! I am older too and I find a good result comes from using Olay self foaming disks to clean with first, pat dry and use your regular lotion. Then the foundation I find that works for my large absorbing pores is Loreal Visible Lift. pat on and then gently blend. I have no clogged pores at all with this

Try using a foundation primer that has silicone in it. The silicone creates a smoother canvas by "filling in" the pores (and fine lines) without clogging them. I've heard that Photo Finish by Smashbox is a good product and that is found at Sephora. I'm not sure if foundation primer is sold at drugstores.

I'm guessing that you have oily skin, in which case, make sure that you are buying foundations that are oil free. Instead of trying to cover it up with just foundation, try using it in conjunction with a pore minimizing lotion. Clinique sells a great one. Good luck!

I use Beauty Control products. My foundation is Wet/Dry Natural. You spritz their mineral mist on your face then cover with the powder. It's great. I've used it for almost 15 years. You can go online to find the representative nearest you. Hope this helps.
