I believe this is because they had a strong belief in reincarnation and rebirth so of course they wanted to be as prepared as possible for this next step.

They believed in an after-life.
But it wasn't just the Pharaohs it was the popular belief at the time for all the people.
Concerned may not be the best word.

Isn't everyone interested? Most people believe in it,(most) not all.
It's good to have something to believe in and look forward to .Our faith has taught us that.....
