The back of your neck is a place where a professional should be piercing, there are too many things that could go wrong. It is good that you have thought about all aspects but I would suppose that the needle should be as thick as the ring to go through it. I used to use the earring I was going to put in but in your case that won't work. Get someone to do it for you it is a lot less pain and infection and then you have someone to blame if it goes wrong.

I have peirced myself before and I think for that one you should let a pro do it in his/her facility.

idk what a nape is. but if its ur belly please don't do it yourself. you could end up piercing it to high and it might spilt. causing bleeding and a trip to the hospital !
