Why is it that, when faced with a situation like this, people are more worried about the possibility of getting a ticket for a couple of hundred dollars than the possibility of getting hit by the train?

Here's a good story for you. My husband did this once and he was driving his 1967 Chevy 2. Like a cliche movie scene, his car stalled right in the middle of the tracks. Next here comes the train. Luckily he got his car started and got off the tracks in time. Needless to say he learned his lesson and he still has his car in one piece too!
