According to the Copenhagen Interpretation of Quantum Physics, the reality you see is not really here. So, there is no actual universe.

You're right. Space is most facinating. I, too, have wondered if we were just goldfish is a bowl, unable to recognize that we were limited in what we could understand.

I don't think the universe goes on forever, that there is some limit. However, the universe is supposed to be expanding at an increasing rate. Is there some greater emptiness that it is filling? I don't think we will ever know.

We may as well consider the universe infinite. I don't believe that we will ever reach whatever limit there is. If you look at just our galaxy, the Milky Way, it is about 100,000 light years across. Assuming we could travel 1,000 times faster than light, it would take 100 years just to go from one edge of our galaxy to the other. The nearest galaxy to ours is Andromeda and is 1.6 million light years away. The most distant galaxy found so far is 12.3 billion light years from us. I don't believe we will ever be able to cross distances of this magnitude. If we are unable to reach the limit, it is for all practical purposes unlimited.

Aliens? Yes, I think they exist. There are far too many stars for life not to have happened some where else. More than likely it has happened several times. To think we are the only intelligent life is, in my opinion, just a remnant of the old "earth is the center of everything" egocentrism. We could possibly find evidence of other intelligence in some sort of signalling, whether it is intentional or not. Will we ever contact other intelligence? I don't know. Can you hold a meaningful conversation when the time between a question and an answer could be 10 years, 100 years, or even 1,000 years? If it's 1,000 years can you even call it contact?

I believe that the universe is finite. It is more natural that way. I am studying old maps in my history class and that all depict a small island surrounded by endless water. I believe that this is similar to our situation. Just because we haven't seen an end, doesn't mean that the universe is infinite.
I believe that aliens do exist. i don't believe, however, that the come to earth in giant saucers and beam people up. To look up at the night sky, to see only the stars visible to the naked eye and to say "we are the only ones" I believe is pure ignorance.

I have thought a few times though, are we micro organisms in some petre dish in a lab. Haha.

One thing that bothers me living today is that I won't live to know that answers to these questions.

as a species we evolved on the earth. it's truly amazing that in such a short time we have developed the intelligence to place one of our own on another celestial body. i'm sure you can tell from past headlines that space exploration is a dangerous and unforgiving enterprise. those who choose it as a profession deserve all the accolade of a modern hero. never the less our species will always push the envelope, it's what we do best.

I think that the universe is far too large for us to be the only life. I believe that there is life on many other planets. We may not encounter them anytime soon but they are there!

200 billion suns in our galaxy alone? An infinite number of Galaxies in the universe? Why would they have been created if no one else used them?
