No I don't for the following reasons:
1) The US is carrying an insane load of debt on all levels, Federal, State, local and personal and we're still borrowing billions every day. It's not sustainable; it simply can't last.....
2) Our economy is totally dependant on cheap, plentiful oil which will not be either for much longer. The population as a whole is oblivious while the corporate overclass simply sees this as a financial opportunity. Meanwhile, for a variety of reasons, the US is losing the race to get contracts for new oil supplies.
3) A process of climactic change is clearly under way which, at the very least, is going to make our economic problems a lot worse. The majority of people are in total denial of the danger.
4) A process of cultural change is underway which has completely undermined social cohesion. For better and for worse, the US is now a multicultural empire not an organic nation-state. Like all empires, the present multicultural US requires a strong central government to hold the subject tribes together. When imperial control slips, because of some catastrophic event like Katrina, then things get out of control very quickly.....
5) A new challenger for super power status (China) is rising while an old one (Russia) has resurrected. They have allied to each other and are gathering support everywhere from cultures and regimes who, for a variety of reasons, resent US hegemony. Meanwhile in this, as in everything else, the American masses are asleep, while the elite wastes US power in a futile pursuit of Middle-Eastern oil.
None of these factors exists in isolation from each other; they are all interacting in ways that make the final outcome very difficult to predict. That having been said, I cannot imagine any scenario where 50 years from now the US is still as rich, dumb, and happy as it is now......

Not if they keep doing what they're doing now, which is letting the UN run things! The UN is a joke, and the US needs to pull out.
Plus, all the other countries hate us, and I think it's mostly because we step in and 'try' to help others, and they see that as interfering, or showing off our wealth. If we just stopped messing around with other countries problems, and concentrated on our own, we'd have the debt paid off, and maybe less hatred from the others! Take too long to expound more, but you get the drift....

Only if we get a hold on all the illegal activity we are allowing taking place here. If we don’t mend our internal wounds then we (the US) will get exploited. It is a scary thought. We may not be perfect, but what other country would be as fair, helpful and forgiving as the US has been to other countries under the same conditions?

within 50 years if things continue on their present course there will most likely be a single superpower made up of the former US and a few other countries ... most likely integrated into a much stronger UN ... with a single military force and economic system.

no. i heard we have sold much of the US to other countries, and our current foreign policy is making many enemies. if we don't change things, the rest of the world will no longer care about our opinion, and if we have no more money to lend because of our debt, we will be "useless" as a country to world politics
