and limewire doesnt work for me because it freezes up in the download

there are some great sites on the net, go into any search engine and type in free mp3 downloads
alternatively just type in the name and free mp3 downloads and just wade through them,
after a few tries u can learn which are lying about being free
as a general thing if u find 1 it will have links to others

Well, Limewire's not legal anyway. ;)
If you want to download copyrighted music for free, legally, then you're out of luck. But if you just want to listen to music, then http://music.download.com has lots of tunes to browse through in all styles. That's where I usually go when I get the itch.
