Go to the Social Security dept and fill out a form. Boom, you're done! There may be a fee, $10 or so bucks.
Change your first, middle and/or last name. I changed my last name after I got married, but Im going to go back and add my old last name, like a second middle name, just so people can find me if they need to.

Go to your county courthouse and apply. A simple court proceeding is all it takes if you arn't trying to commit a fraud or you can just start using a new name on your own. Perfectly legal, called an alias, but you may have to register the name with certain government entities. A rose by any other name.

You go to court and petition for a name change.
You cannot change your name to escape outstanding bills or child support or to defraud the government or anything else unlawful.
