My daddy called my mom his old lady. He had this raceroom (awesome, you'd have to see it) & there was a sign that said, "Sponsered by Rusty's Old Lady." My mom didn't mind it at all, as far as I know. If it does bother you that much, have you even asked him not to do so? If he doesn't care if you like or not, & continues to do it, then I just don't get it. What happened to respect? Or was it ever there? But anyway, I'm not out to judge people. I'm just answering the question. My husband doesn't call me that, but I wouldn't care one way or another. He does call me ma'am. But I like that just fine. Just remember not to dwell over the little things like that. Remember why you do love each other.

No man has ever called me his old lady. I was married to a man younger than me and he did not even call me that. None of my boyfriends who have also been younger than me never called me this either. I always thought it was something a certain area called there women like more men from the country.

I am a wife, and my husband does not call me that, but if he did it would not bother me. It is just another term of endearment that men think is cute.....lol
Just like when women say, let me check with my ole man, it doesn't mean they are old, it just is a saying.....

I have to agree with your other answers. NO! When he does slip into "guyspeak" and call me ole lady....I ask him "who's your new lady?" It gently gets my point across. I don't think he's doing it to disrespect...he just forgets that I'm not one of his buddies.
Now, before I get chewed up, I'm not saying ALL guys forget. I will not excuse nasty behavior...just maybe your old man forgets. (wink)
Tell him it bugs you. And if he continues to use the term you'll start calling him "stumpy" around his friends.
LOL!
Love, Ang

I agree with you but back in the day that was used as a term of endearment, also as a possessive term. Times have changed. Tell him you don't like it. Maybe he doesn't realize that you don't like it. Do you call him old man? Does it bother him? Bottom line is even if it doesn't bother him but it bothers you he shouldn't use the term. Good Luck

my husband never called me that no thank god. i would really hate it also. but the good thing about being married to the guy is you can ***** at him for calling you that :P just tell him to stop it or if he wont or continues call him something that will annoy him . to teach a man a lesson you have to give them a tasted of their own medicine sometimes
good luck!
